Covington Wedding: Totus Tuus...Totally Yours - Cara and Tommy are married

Totus Tuus.

Totally yours. To Jesus Through Mary.

Totus Tuus was Pope John Paul II's apostolic motto. It is a Latin phrase meaning "totally yours" and expressed his personal Consecration to Mary based on the spiritual approach of Saint Louis de Montfort and the Mariology in his works. Totus Tuus is also a Catholic summer youth program.

I've never been one to talk a lot about my religion or beliefs. But I can tell you, I am a christian and I hope my faith shows the way Cara and Tommy's faith shows every day. I cannot properly put into words how simply beautiful this couple and their wedding was from beginning to end. They reminded me why I love the Catholic church.

Cara and Tommy came to me late in the planning process. We'd talked before, but they'd gone with a different planner originally. When it wasn't working out (which does happen), she called me and I couldn't have been happier! With her family all being from out of town and her reception venue being brand spanking new, she needed help wrangling vendors and pulling things together.

She is truly a beautiful spirit! She is bright and bubbly and, while not originally from here, she oozes southern sweetness! She and Tommy both went to Catholic universities and Cara works at St Peter school and Tommy at St Pauls. And it just so happens to also be where Tommy proposed (in the grotto). It was only fitting for them to get married in that very same community. They were married at St Peter and had their reception at the Southern Hotel Downtown Covington. The Southern Hotel opened in the summer of 2014. It was exactly what Cara wanted for her wedding day.....a touch of New Orleans with exposed brick and architecture....it was rustic, charming, elegant, and romantic. Papa C and the Slammin Horns kept the bride and groom as well as the crowd dancing all afternoon.

Cara and Tommy got married in the summer so it was only fitting their flowers and the atmosphere were light and airy. She went with wild flowers and lavender from Poppy and Mint and it came together beautifully!!!

To Cara and Tommy: Nothing is more practical than finding God, than falling in Love in a quite absolute way. What you are in love with, what seizes your imagination, will affect everything. It will decide what will get you out of bed in the morning, what you do with your evenings, how you spend your weekends, what you read, who you know, what breaks your heart, and what amazes you with joy and gratitude. Fall in love, stay in love, and it will decide everything.

-Fr. Pedro Arrupe

It is my hope and wish for you that you always remember this day fondly and that you have many happy blessings throughout life.

Houma Wedding: Sweet Southern Belle, Caroline & Trey are married

When I think of Caroline and Mrs. Colleen Lewis, I will forever associate them with true Southern belles. They are so graceful and manners and the accents could keep me smiling all day long. They are so warm hearted and welcoming and I loved every minute I had with these ladies. Caroline was married in Houma at St Francis de Sales. She prepped at her mom and dad's house while her fiance Trey prepped at a local hotel. The reception was at Ellendale Country Club which is always beautiful and wonderful to work with! And while this couple may be uniting families from all over the SEC, they are united in their love of Texas A&M. See their exit where everyone could choose their own school colors to support the couple and their schools (LSU, Ole miss and Texas A&M were all represented!)! Loved it! Truly blessed to have this job!

Sending many happy blessings to Caroline and Trey Marak! You two are an awesome pair!
