Old Friends Reunited and It Feels so Good! Ceili + Justin Married!

We lived down the street from each other. We played ball together. We did activities in school together. We, the photographer, bride and myself, have known each other since elementary school and we came together again for the bride's big day!

Several months ago Ceili Acosta contacted me about possibly needing a day of coordinator. Of course I'm going to help! I am honored to help an old friend! And I should have known Ceili was keeping it so family friendly. She used another good friend Jessica Forno (now Pajimula) for photography, a cousin for her DJ, her uncle for her flowers and her aunt (nanny) for her hair. And they were all great! It was truly a family affair!

Ceili and Justin Colletti were married March 7, 2014 at Chateau Country Club. It was a roaring 20s and 30s theme and everyone rocked it! I would have thought I stepped back in time. From Ceili with her hair and makeup and netting to her dad, Mr. Darrell and all the guys and their awesome suits and Justin's shoes! It was a great night!

We started the day at Marriott Courtyard on Julia. You wouldn't believe from the outside, but this hotel has some great architectural features and completely set the stage for a great night! Heather and the lovely ladies from Flawless were on hand to work their magic on the already lovely ladies in Ceili's life. Frenchy NOLA did a live painting while David with Randy Diddly Studios and Jessica with Samarie-Lei captured the day via videography and photography!

A fun way to transport guests - school buses! Ceili used school buses (Mr. Frank or bus number 10 for those from the West Bank!) to get her guests from the hotel to Chateau Country Club. Upon arriving at Chateau, guests headed outside to a lovely courtyard. It was an outside ceremony lit up by twinkle lights all over.

While at first Ceili may not seem all girlie and frilly and into the wedding planning thing, she surely did accomplish a wedding filled with glam and glitz and fun and family. Congratulations my friend! I hope you and Justin are blessed beyond your years! Hugs!

Grand Isle Wedding: Vegas-Pennison: A Valentine's Day Wedding

Ahhhh....February 14 or better known as Valentine's Day is all about love and this day, this year, was filled with so much love. Several months ago I got a call from my friend Kelly Boudreaux with Le Mariage of Houma. On the other line though was not Kelly, but Renee. Renee and her mom Dodie, of Grand Isle, were looking for a coordinator to help pull together Renee and Jared's big day. See they were turning the Tarpon Rodeo Pavilion into a wedding reception space. Kelly, as the decorator, knew this day would require a lot of coordination so she recommended It's Your Time Events. Renee and Ms. Dodie called and signed up immediately! They wanted to enjoy this special  moment. And I was so happy to do it with Kelly and for them!

I arrived Wednesday night and couldn't believe the transformation! I had already done a walk through with Renee and Ms. Dodie at the Pavilion but seeing it that day was amazing. Kelly had turned this pavilion into a spectacular reception space!

Decorating started earlier in the week when the lights were replaced and the ground washed and the vinyl walls were installed around the entire pavilion. Then Thursday, Event Rentals hung drapery and dropped furniture. Kelly and I were so afraid the wind was going to blow things over....but it didn't! Thank God because it turned out beautiful!

That night, I went to rehearsal and rehearsal dinner with the family. This group is so much fun and lovable! Renee and Jared are two sweethearts. They hunt and fish and dance together! And their family and friends are just like them! From the supposed to be shy brother Robert to the toast from the maids of honor and best men. I fell in love with a family that night and truly hope to keep in regular contact with them.

Valentine's Day turned out to be a slightly chilly but beautiful day! Renee and her bridesmaids gathered at their family camp in Grand Isle while the groomsmen gathered at another camp.

Kelly with LeMariage of Houma did a phenomenal job! I can't wait to work with her again! The Chase Tyler Band played all night long and everyone danced and enjoyed every second of it! Flowers provided by Ms. Connie Ledet with Designs by Connie. The cakes were by the very awesome Sugarplum Bakery in Houma. Mark Page did the video which I can't wait to see and Brocato Photojournalism captured every moment perfectly!
